Featured Project: whimsicial woodland wattle

In this private woodland garden, we crafted a stunning traditional wattle fence with an open weave design. The gracefully curving structure is made from hazelnut whips sustainably harvested in Rappahannock County, adding a touch of local charm and environmental responsibility. Our handwoven fencing complements the existing vegetable and ornamental plantings, creating a harmonious blend of artistry and practicality. This project showcases our commitment to sustainable practices, traditional craftsmanship, and our ability to enhance gardens with beautiful, functional elements that resonate with the natural surroundings.

TESTIMONAILS

Vegetable & Herb Gardening with Joneve - great courses!

We thoroughly enjoyed the 101 and 201 classes with Joneve who spoiled us an abundance of her expert knowledge and tips for our humble organic vegetable gardens. She is quite engaging, entertained many questions, and brainstormed solutions to issues we have encountered. We were blown away with the depth of her expertise and willingness to share. As the former long term resident farmer at a nearby Michelin rated restaurant, manager of farms, combined with international studies abroad - Joneve is the real deal. Her passion and enthusiasm is contagious and we feel more empowered and motivated to put into practice the possibilities learned from Joneve during the courses. We highly recommend her courses and the other offerings at Wild Root Apothecary!

The March Winds Wattle

Joneve, you really outdid yourself with your willingness to share your skills with mere mortals. I enjoyed learning and building skills with your kind help. Going to see the truffle farm was an added plus. Thank you again for an interesting afternoon. I’ll be back.

So inspiring!

As enthusiastic as I was about learning Wattle Fence building, I didn’t know the extent to which it would nourish my soul. What a beautiful afternoon it was working in and with nature, learning a new and useful craft. I’ve taken other classes with Joneve Murphy and each time I’m so inspired by the knowledge and creativity she generously shares.
